| | Steering problem on Roketa 250 « Thread Started on Sept 18, 2006, 9:09pm » | |
I got my Roketa Bali 250 the two days ago and it took me a while to find the crimp in the fuel line before I got it running. After warming up and adjusting the idle it seemed fine. The first test ride showed that the bike pulls to the left and I need to maintain a constant pressure on the handlebar to keep it straight. What beside the front fork being out of alignment could cause this and HOW to fix it. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
I solved the steering problem by getting the shipping company to replace the damaged scooter.

kitson; Welcome to the DawgPound! Glad to see you have a 250. Out of curiousity, what is the name of the manufacturer (assembler) in China (found on ID plate)? I believe yours is the first post I have seem for a Bali/Tank Touring 250 with this problem. I don't know the answer but perhaps Stan Jessup, one of our master mechanics and TT250 owner, has an idea. You really do have to trace out all the hoses to make certain things are OK!

kitson; Thanks for the info. My Bali was made by "Chongqing Astronautical Bashan Motorcycle Manufacturing Co, Ltd." and was made in May '06. Seems Roketa is grabbing these wherever it can. Compared with one Tank Touring 150 I saw, the fit and finish on my body panels was not quite as good as the Tank or a previous Roketa 150 Fiji I owned and made by Taizhou Chuanl. Otherwise, the mechanical part of the bike has been OK. Hope Stan comes up with some help for you.

Check to see if one of your control cables is binding (too short). If not that, you may have a bad bearing in the steering head.
