Sounds like a cool deal...so when it is all finished with TLC and mods, will you post a final run through of exactly what you did and what the final end result was? It'd be cool as well to have an idea of final mod costs....
Thanks!

Here goes...
-Rear tires 160$ http://www.palmettospecialtytire.com/ser....Tire-for/Detail -Front tire 80$ Pirelli MT66 Route Tire - Front - 3.00/18 (ordered from Amazon) -Uni-Filter and jet kit (125 and 130 main jets) $30 www.BuggyPartsNW.com -Kuryakyn Iso grips 65$ From Amazon -Mirrors $50 From Amazon -Emgo slash slip-on mufflers 100$ http://www.amazon.com/Emgo-Turn-out-Univ....9031509&sr=8- 4 -Tires mounted and balanced, state inspection, A-Arm repair and 2nd overall look by shop $400 -Misc. RTV, grease, Loc-Tite, filler metal, 12 inches of pipe, and misc nuts/bolts....maybe 20$ -New fenders and paint/bondo to finish them properly will be about 150-200$
All said and done I'll have put in around 1100$ and more than a few hours of time but when you figure I only paid $4K for the trike and the next closest thing is around 15-20K, I'm pretty happy.

Sailor, I'm gonna be needin some pictures. Im also really interested in the improved performance.
My wife's road warrior came in today and I have it all put together. I have some thoughts about it.
To say it's sluggish is an understatement. I think the back tires are holding it back. Having no experience with chopper trikes I can say that it's different. The fit and finish of the bike isn't great but, I think I can work with it. I got it up to about 40. I think it feels OK. Throw it into a turn and things get interesting. I discovered that I need to slow down.
The trike came on a semi truck and I helped the guy get it off the truck as the crate was too big for the lift gate. I then worked on it, test rode it and washed it in six hours. It may have a bit of an oil leak or, I might have over filled it a bit. I'm watching that part. If it's leaking it looks like it's where the output shaft comes out of the engine. If it continues to leak I'll pull the cover off and look at it.
I haven't ridden it much so, I'll play with it more later. My wife hasn't tried it yet and I think she's a bit nervous to start. She used to ride a lot on motorcycles but, being sick for a few years has changed all that. I will say that it's brand new and does seem to ride better as the engine get's broken in.

I posted a picture of it in the "show and tell" section and I'll keep you updated as far as performance goes when I know how fast it will go when I don't run out of road! If you want any specific pics just PM me and I'll email you whatever you want.
My wife started off timid as well...similer story involving a hip injury...and so for her it was like learning to ride all over again but now she jams at 55mph on the back roads! And yeah, best money I spent was upgrading the tires, way better ride and handling...all the rest was just gravy

SO, fenders are mounted, tile is in hand and tags on the trike! Took it on it's maiden voyage of 30miles where it burned around 1/2 gallon and though 4th still doesn't seem to top out and 5th is just a waste of time to attempt to shift into....overall it's great!!! 3rd gear goes from 30-55 mph comfortably and then 4th cruises happily between 50 and 60mph (60 on flat or downhill areas) and only on steep hills did I have to down shift to 3rd. I m going to keep messing with the carb and look into changing the transmission gearing but as of right now it is a 50-60 mph and mpg machine that got a state trooper to pull up next to me while grinning from ear to ear as he checked it out LOL

Well, I'm back in town now so, I'm gonna pull the carb tomorrow and re-jet. Then I'll saw off those sucky mufflers and weld on either drag pipes or some straight through Cobra mufflers that I have laying around. Once that's done I'm going to pull those back wheels and get some bigger tires mounted.
Sailor, what did you use to cut the plastic fenders? I was planning on using a sawzall with a fine tooth blade.
